This Yeongwonsa Temple's Seated Wooden Statue of Buddha is evenly complete with the general characteristics of the statues of the Buddha in the late Joseon Dynasty(1392-1910) and is preserved in good shape. So, the figure of Buddha is significantly crucial to researching the style of Buddha statues in the late Joseon period, especially in the 18th century, being of great value in preservation.
The upper body of the statue seem to be somewhat long, but because the width between the knees is big, it gives a sense of stability.
The Seated Wooden Statue of Buddha is 63 cm in overall height, 41㎝ in height of the Buddha, 19.5㎝ in head height, 10.2㎝ in face width, 41㎝ in leg width, and 27.5 cm in leg width.
