According to the record, this Large Scroll Painting of Buddha was made in the 7th year(1856) of King Cheoljong reign in the Joseon Dynasty(1392-1910) and was enshrined in Palsangjeon Hall in Yeongeunsa Temple. So, it seems to have been manufactured after reconstruction of the temple.
The large banner painting describes Sakyamuni who preaches Buddhist teachings to his disciples in Yeongchuisan Mountain.
The painting, measuring 8.17m in length x 5.03m in width is preserved in good shape. Against the red and green background, the piece takes on a beautiful appearance with its diverse colors being in harmony.
