Dutasan Mountain(Bakjisan) Natural Recreational Forest is located at the foots of Mount Dutasan at the altitude of 1,394 meters above seal level which Junbu-myeon, PyeongChang-gun borders Jeongseon-gun in Gangwon Province. The mountainous recreational forest is rich in tourist resources and is about 20 minutes away from Jinbu IC, bordering the national road No. 59 between Jinbu and Jeongseon.
The Dutasan Natural Recreational Forest is situated to the west of the Taebaek Mountains and is located at the central axis of the clean valley which is based on the bright and crystal water flowing down from Mount Odae and the leisure industry.
PyeongChange in Gangwon Province is an area which maintains the emotion and the tradition of the mountainous region where Woljeongsa Temple, a cultural heritage formed around Odaesan Mountain in Yeongseo Region is harmony with the Nodong Valley, Shingi Valley, Suhang Valley, Makdong Valley, Jangjeon Valley and Bongsan Valley which go together with the well-known mountains. Getting into the Achagol Valley from the area of Suhang-ri, Jinbu-myeon, PyeongChang-gun, a crossroad which the stream of water originated from Odaesan Mountain meanders the deep heart of the mountains and gorges and meets the Namhan River, the Chilseongdae Terrace in Bakjisan Mountain at 1,394 meters above seal level comes into sight.
Here, you can see mountain animals, like badger, raccoon, wild boar, and wild rabbit, countless medicinal herbs, and many kinds of trees, including schmidts birch, nut pine and bass wood, each measuring more than the both arms´ span around, all of which tell that the area forms an axis of the biologically healthy and staunch forests. For cover vegetation, lichens whose names are unknown spread like a carpet on the grounds. The Seonnyeotang Pond, a Seamteo, a washing place watered by a spring where hares take a rest and the feasts of wild flowers held all year round in Achagol Valley located at the backwoods that shows no signs of life are worthwhile to see.
