Goraeng-gil Road was named so due to the fact that PyeongChang is a cold high land whose altitude is 600 meters or higher.
Goraeng-gil starts in front of Phoenix Park. While crossing small mountains, walking along woodland paths and enjoying forest-bathing, visitors arrive at Bongpyeong where buckwheat flowers bloom.
The course consists of repeated uphill paths and downhill paths featuring dense forests where tourists can have fun appreciating the beauty of the nature, and dirt paths offer perfect trails to mountaineers. Lee Hyo-seok Literature Forest is established at the edge of Goraeng-gil, and it leads to Bongpyeong Hyoseok Culture Village, the setting of the novel ‘Memilkkotpilmuryeop.’ In the past, when Bongpyeong Fair was held, people are said to have passed through this road from Myeonon to Bongpyeong.
