If one goes up 5km along National Highway No. 6 from the old section of Bongpyeong-myeon, he or she can find a beautiful natural landscape and a valley with clean water, and Heungjeong Valley starts here. Heungjeong Valley that originates from Heungjeongsan Mountain to be continued to Baekokpo-ri mostly consists of biotite gneiss in the pre-Cambrian period. It is a clean valley with cool water, and Hub Nation is located nearby. Bongpyeong Lee Hyo-seok Culture Village is just a stone’s throw away from Gasan Lee Hyo-seok who authored the novel titled ‘Memilkkotpilmuryeop.’ Visitors to Heungjeong Valley featuring Hub Nation located against the backdrop of a clean valley number 50,000 per annum, and it is cited as one of Tourist Attraction in Bongpyeong, the setting of the novel, “Memilkkotpilmuryeop” by Lee Hyo-seok , along with Bongsanseojae, Shrine of Yulgok, and Palseokjeong with Sa-eon Yang’s Inscription. Since it does not exceed 15°C in temperature even in high summer, it is regarded as the best summer resort. It is a place where various types of freshwater fishes including trouts, a cold water fish, inhabit.
