Tourist Information
Bakji Mountain (1,394m) puts down roots in Singi-ri, Jinbu-myeon, PyeongChang-gun in Gangwon Province and in the east of Odaecheon Stream in Suhang–ri where streams of water originated from Odaesan Mountain join Joyanggang River in Jeongseon. Bakji Mountain is well-known to have various mountain animals including badgers, racoons, roe deers and wild pigs in addition to various medicinal herbs and such rare plants as wild ginseng. In particular, such valleys of Bakji Mountain as Bakjigol where visitors can see ice until the last of the three dog days and Achagol where visitors can appreciate beautiful scenery are so less frequented by mountaineers that they still preserve the mystique of the wilds.
